The Civic League of Gulfport is a community of women dedicated to assisting individuals with special needs across the Mississippi Gulf Coast, funded each year by our beloved Christmas Tour of Homes.
Founded in 1947 by eighteen civic-minded women staffing Gulfport's polio clinic, the Civic League today is a thirty-five-member organization serving those with special needs across the Coast.
Every dollar raised by the Christmas Tour of Homes, our only fundraiser, goes directly to community projects and scholarships.
Weekend sacks of healthy, easy-to-prepare food for elementary school children who qualify for free or reduced-price meals.
Sports, leisure activities, and inclusion programs for individuals with special needs, including the Gulf Coast Buddy Walk.
Awards for students with special needs and for students pursuing careers that serve people with special needs.
Support for the Women's Resource Center, Gulf Coast Center for Non-Violence, and CASA of Harrison County.
Holiday food baskets for local families in need, plus Salvation Army bell ringing and disaster relief support each season.
Unique camping experiences for people of diverse abilities and empowerment for full participation in community life.
Since 1959, the people of the Gulf Coast have opened beautifully decorated homes, from Biloxi to Pass Christian, to benefit our neighbors with special needs. It is the League's only fundraiser, and every ticket makes a difference.
